Anderson Galleries sale catalogue, 1920: "A quaint bridge spans the stream in the foreground, both banks lined with interesting old buildings whose silhouettes of towers and steeples make an attractive sky line. A figure on the bridge and a boat in middle plane enliven the scene; bright winter evening."
