Chicago Historical Society information sheet, undated: "Full view face, full figure in sitting position facing left. Gray hair parted in center with bun on top. Gray eyes and fair complection. Seated at table in red back arm chair. Gray tablecloth with floral design on edge. Book, rose and handkerchief on table. Wears black dress with bustle and short train and white lace cuffs and collar. Right hand rests on table. Left hand in lap has solitaire and gold wedding ring. Blue rug with colored design. Dark background."
